§ The work behind MPower

What happens in the room.

MPower the platform is pre-launch. The work behind it isn't. These are role-anonymised stories from rooms Lisa has run, leaders she has coached, teams she has walked alongside. Member stories will live here after launch. Until then, this is the proof behind the founder.

"If I didn't make change, I'd crash and burn. I wouldn't be here in five years."

Two workshops in, a principal said something she hadn't planned to say. She'd been leading the way the job teaches you to lead, carry it all, keep going, look like you've got it handled. Then she did the maths on where that was heading and didn't like the answer.

So she changed one thing. Then the next. A daily journal, something she'd always thought wasn't for her. A written intention every morning, and when the day got loud, she came back to it. Her head got clearer. The frustration that used to run her, she learned to flip.

Nobody handed her a worksheet. She got the space to ask "what kind of leader do I actually want to be", and the room was safe enough that she answered it honestly, then acted. That is the work. Not the slides. The moment a leader decides to change while she still can.

The team that streamlined the actual work.

Everyone who runs sessions knows online is the format that goes flat, and a school team has heard "play to your strengths" a hundred times. They didn't leave with a theory. They left with their admin actually streamlined and a few habits they could use on Monday.

"You were so well prepared, which made for a valuable session. The little tips and tricks have been amazing, efficient ways of being organised, how to streamline the admin in a school. Highly engaging. You pushed us out of our comfort zone in a supportive and caring way."

Session 1 of an arc

The team that finally knew where it was going.

A leadership team started a programme not sure what they'd get out of it. They finished the first session knowing where they were headed and how they'd talk to their people about it.

"We both left feeling excited about what's ahead, and confident we'll learn so much. For the first time in a long time, I feel like we're going to have a clearer direction in what we're trying to achieve, and how we communicate with the teams."

The change isn't a new strategy doc. It's a team that can finally see the road and say it out loud to each other.

Full-day workshop

The principals who got honest in the room.

Leading a school is lonely. The job quietly rewards looking like you're fine. The proof a room is built right is when principals stop performing in it and say how they're actually going.

"You do an amazing job of making the principals feel comfortable and able to be vulnerable with how they are going. Your list of resources is another highlight."

The transformation: people who carry a lot, given one place they could put it down and be honest. That doesn't happen by accident. It gets designed.

12-month engagement

The organisation set up to scale.

A board and executive team had outgrown how they were structured. Over a year of close work, the structure got reviewed properly, and the operating side got clearer and steadier, the unglamorous groundwork an organisation needs in place before it can grow.

"A powerhouse for change. Numerous efficiencies, all essential for us to scale up."
, Board Chair
"A thorough review of our organisational structure, guided by invaluable support."
, CEO

The change here isn't loud. It's an organisation that can now grow without breaking, because someone did the work to set it up to.
