I learned most of what I know the hard way.
Figured it out as I went. Made mistakes I never needed to make, because nobody took the time to teach me, and the people who could have held their knowledge tight. I want to change that.
I'm a recovering accountant who runs businesses (I'm not a "theoretical only" leader), made payroll with no cash in the bank, sits on boards, and works with leaders from all walks of life trying to understand how to solve the problems they are facing. I got so annoyed at hearing "no-one trains you for this". We need to do something radically different. They are different rooms, different sectors, but the same thing every time - the expertise existed somewhere, it just never reached the person who needed it, not in their language, not in the moment it mattered. Capable and passionate people, made to feel like they were the only one who didn't know, and didn't know how to find the right answers. We promote people into leadership roles because they are technically capable, BUT, we never teach them how to lead.
That's why I built MPower. Not another course library. A place where you get the knowledge, the power and the skills to grow, thrive and flourish, in plain language, with nobody gatekeeping the info, talking down to you, or making you feel like you're dumb.
My whole working life has come down to one question: how do we equip people so they're genuinely empowered, then get out of their way? MPower is that question, built.
